Thanks for raising the issues again with details that cut across all our regions- I wish there was a school girl there to give insight on how the feel in all this and what they the girls wish could be done to improve their situation. In Ghana we have a lot of girl-friendly policies scattered in legal documents- making the monitoring of implementation difficult- ActionAid is currently working on a single document in which all these policies including suggestions for improvement are beng compiled and submitted to the Mininstry of Education. -(We are also drawing on the Model Policy of ActionAid.)
Already we are in partnership with stakeholders including the Girls’ Education Unit of the Ghana Education Service, our National Coalition on Education and the Teachers’ Union.
The slides are fine and it will be good if partcipants can get copies to further popularise the issues. Thank you for giving voice to the voiceless. It is hgh time perpetrators know that girls and women have right to a life of dignity and justice.
